What Is It?
KLAK is a MIDI drum module with twelve drum voices synthesised in real time – kick, snare, clap, closed and open hats, toms, rim, cowbell, crash, ride, congas and shaker. Every drum can be tuned and shaped, and any drum can be switched to a punchy 808-style sample instead. A thirteenth voice, SYN, is a 70s Syndrum-style drum with pitch sweep, ring mod, fuzz and glide – play it tunefully from a keyboard. A ring modulator and a COMB flanger add metallic clang and that big 80s snare buzz.
Play it from a keyboard, pads or your DAW using the standard General MIDI drum map, or use the built-in 16-step pattern sequencer with accents, swing, hat rolls and a LEVELS mixer to balance the kit while it plays – it follows MIDI clock, so it locks to the rest of your rig. A colour screen shows every setting.

How Do I Connect It?
- Connect your keyboard, pads, sequencer or MIDI interface MIDI OUT to the KLAK MIDI IN (5-pin DIN)
- Connect the stereo audio output to a mixer, audio interface or powered speakers (line level)
- Optional: connect MIDI THRU to another synth – chain KLAK with MALICE and play them as one rig
- Power from USB-C (phone charger recommended – not supplied) or a 9–12V DC supply (9V recommended, 2.1mm, any polarity – not supplied)
Headphones can be used for checking, but KLAK is designed for a mixer or audio interface.
