What Does It Do?
This MIDI device "merges" two MIDI data streams into one output. Perhaps you have a master keyboard and a separate controller device with great performance controls, and want to use both to control a synth or module.
The word "merge" is a slight misnomer — it passes the first received MIDI data and queues whatever signal arrives later, creating a single output stream.
How Is It Powered?
- Comes with a 1m 2.1mm-to-USB lead included to power from a USB source
- A mains mobile phone charger, 1A or more, is ideal (not supplied)
- Can also use a 5V DC "wallwart" type power pack, 1A, 2.1mm female plug — tip of the plug positive
How Do I Connect It?
- Plug two master controller keyboards into the MIDI IN jacks of the merge unit
- Plug a DAW/module etc. into the MIDI out port
- Plug in the power adapter or USB lead
- Job done
Note: If sending very large amounts of controller data simultaneously, there may be an impact on merge speed.
