What Does It Do?
Got MIDI gear and Roland DINsync kit? Or need a device that outputs multiple clock rates? Then this device will help.
- Produces DINsync for Roland machines
- Built-in MIDI Thru, to pass incoming MIDI data on to other synths / modules
- Outputs standard 24 PPQN and start/stop signals
- Has MIDI IN, OUT and DINsync OUT
- Also pins for 1, 2, 4, 8 and 48 PPQN (used on some vintage Korg drum machines)
- 24 and 8 PPQN can be sent simultaneously
- Punch-in start/stop button
Tested on a Korg KR-55 8 PPQN with an aftermarket sync mod fitted (see Google for details of this DIY mod).

How Is It Powered?
- Comes with a 1m 2.1mm-to-USB lead included to power from USB
- Phone chargers of 1A or more are ideal (not supplied)
How Do I Connect It?
- Connect a lead from a master MIDI unit's MIDI out (e.g. a TR-707) into the MIDI IN jack of this sync unit
- Plug a lead from this unit's DINsync out to DINsync in on the slave — TB-303, TR-606 etc.
- Plug in the power adapter or USB lead
- Job done
If using a DAW — Cubase, Ableton etc. — ensure clock is enabled in the menu. E.g. in Cubase: Transport > Project Sync Setup > MIDI Clock Destination.
A note on the TR-606: if the machine plays fast or slow, you may need to set the external sync scaling on the 606 — many guides available online.

I bought this to sync my TR-606 to my DAW (Ableton). It works perfectly. The price is substantially better than big name competitors. So much so that the higher shipping rate to the US was not even slightly a problem and well worth it.
Great communication and customer service as well. I came back for a 10 way MIDI thru and I'll probably be back again in the future.
